Sighting Details

Around 10:30 pm cst I observed an amber colored bright light, one comparable to a landing light on an airplane, travel from west to east just south of my location. There was no sound or other lights to indicate it was an aircraft and when it reached the furthest observable point to the east it went out, leaving nothing else visible. Though I could see it moving behind the trees during it's path, I cannot judge an accurate altitude but can only say it look as a landing light on an aircraft whose altitude would be 8000 - 10,000 ft. I also want to note that my location is on the edge of controlled airport airspace with regular private, commercial, and military traffic in east/west direction of travel on a daily basis. |
